upon the sea in Words that Rhyme

Sail with me upon the sea

within the oceans arms
the wind the spray just you and me
where man shall do no harm

Roll atop each surging wave
alone is what we’ll be
here we are, each other save
drink in the healing sea

Farewell to strife of each new day
whence standing on the shore
beneath the stars each night we lay
aland we stand nor more

The sea may be a bitter bride
made of flowers and a knife
once holds you oh so loving near
in end shall take your life
