So, to explain my entry about the last two weeks.
Last Monday, home office decided in addition to the 17 people I would be training for Order Processing, we needed to bring up the trained associates to 150. They initially said it would need to be done by that Friday. No problem. Have an evening class Tuesday and Wednesday, which I would teach, a morning class Thursday and Friday and an evening class Thursday and Friday. No overlap, everyone has a training room and it’s good to go.
We found out Monday evening the classes had to be done by Thursday so the new OP associates could go like Fridat when the presale for iPhone 6 launched on Friday. We found this out during our OP’s meeting with Jen, our OM.
If you’ve never seen two OM’s heads explode, along with 8 supervisors, it was quite the sight,
I like the way Jen put it. “Um…I can’t think now. Meeting over. Let’s go smoke.”
Everyone booked it outside in a state of “WTF?” even those that didn’t smoke.
So, I taught a class Tuesday and Wednesday from 1pm to 10pm. Then D taught a class Wednesday and Thursday in the morning. Then Em taught a class Wednesday and Thursday in the morning.
I had one day off last week and clocked 60 hours. I turned down the comp day off this week because I am still hourly and HEY overtime.
Yesterday was long as hell. I was the only hourly sup that turned down the comp day off. Then they asked me if I wanted to come back in at 2am for system testing. Grayson, who stayed the night before, was thre one that asked me. I did the diplomatic no at that point.
Later, I went up to him, and said, “To be quite honest, only two words popped into my head when you asked me that.”
He said, “Same here when they asked me. I’m guessing it was the same two words?”
Me: “Fuck no?”
Him: “Yup!”
I’ve already made myself invaluable with training people, being flexible with my schedule and making myself in third place in quality with a team of people entirely new, I don’t need to kill myself to impress.
