Finally! Three thirty am so I can get up. Sunday nights are not known for sleep. Weekends screw me up. I need a plan. A better one. Maybe exercise? Who the fuck knows. I was up all day Sunday. I had coffee. Not an awful lot. Two cups of ice diluted Kwik Star/Trip coffee in the car, one on the way up, one on the way home, and a couple cups of Fayze’s coffee with my Greek omelet. I certainly didn’t feel ‘wired’, but I stayed awake all day. Saturday was coffee-free and I was pretty slow all day and had maybe a nap or two. Friday I had two pots of my own coffee. So there. Now it’s Monday morning - fairly early I admit - and I’m ready to start the work week. Wish me luck. Sure, do that.
That is my drug situation. Maybe I could give up caffeine? I remember doing that before and being pleased at my level level of energy. That was back in the diet Pepsi days. Back quite a while in them.
I didn’t write again in Prosebox = just the Saturday morning on the deck state of me entry. I am not writing a lot. I’m not doing a lot on line. I am on FB mainly as an observer cum investigator. (Cum is ‘with’ in Latin)
~~~ I just googled a bunch of Latin and it made me all shivery. Cum is so? Ergo is so? Celeritor is quickly. Puella is girl. Wait! I thought cum meant with! It does. I just remembered it wrong when I typed it here just now. I looked up the first declension. Mainly feminine. Nominative, Genitive, Dative, Accl ? and Ablative. Now to figure out what that stuff means. Whatever use/position a word has in a sentence determines the ending of the word. Also whether the noun is singular or plural. Nouns had declensions and verbs had something else. Person, number, and tense. Oh. My. God. And it’s all here on the ‘net.
Sum - I am
Es - you are
Estis - they are
Sumus - we are
Estus - you (all) are
Sunt - they are
Verbs are conjugated. They belong to conjugations.
Again. Oh. My. God.
Coffee is made. I’m not exactly dressed. It’s early. 3:56 am to be sort of exact. Gracie is outside wanting in. If I let her in she will want part of the last donut. Two of the kittens were in for a while last night. Very cute. Jim put them out.
We bought windows for Joana’s house at Menard’s yesterday. Whole windows were only barely more expensive then storms for existing, worn out windows. I guess that was the right thing to do.
I bought a book of Marilyn Monroe photos from the book store yesterday. It was small and made of heavy paper with a black and white photo on each page =- her life in news photos. In every one she is ‘on’. She is blonde and made up and showing her exquisite body and her beautiful face. She was amplified. The story of her life is so familiar. There are other lives like that. Ones we know as well as our own. Better than our own because they are public data. She was this. She did this. Then this happened. And then this happened. She was blonde and sexy and sad. She was on drugs.
I bought an Elmore Leonard book - one I will wait to read after listening to the one on tape in the car so I won’t get them mixed up. I bought a trashy book of obituaries - not sure why I do that. I bought a Philip Roth. I bought a Christmas gift. I bought a card to send to the people from my old job who got married a month ago - a one month anniversary card? Now I”m thinking it might not be taken in the right way. Damn I’m thinking too much. Oh and Jim got a Raymond Chandler book, more about him than by him. He showed me a fantastic picture of him when he was young and in military uniform. He was a good looking man.
~~~ Just googled Raymond Chandler in miliary uniform and got a different Raymond Chandler. This one was born in 1962 and is the current Sergeant Major of the Army. Just goes to show something or other.
But I found this:
“Alcohol is like love. The first kiss is magic, the second is intimate, the third is routine. After that you take the girl’s clothes off.” —The Long Goodbye
It’s quoted here:

It’s now 4:33 am and I have 1000 words.
After I write this. And this. And then some more of that. Plus a dash of this and a soupcon of that. I stir and then I taste and evaluate. I add a dash of salt and consider it a little perfect.
