Autumn – oh I think so! in The odd entries from life …….

A real change this morning after weeks of sunny mornings today’s it dull, and also after rain 0nly falling over night we have a very fine rain on the breeze; autumn – oh I think so!

I see there is a new album out by Steeleye Span, and it is in collaboration with Terry Pratchett, fifteen new songs tied in with the book ‘Wintersmith’ and of course it is also the title of the album.

I have enjoyed ‘Steeleye Span’s’ since the late sixties, and I have thought Maddy Prior the voice of British folk music, I saw her on television a few years ago, her voice is older but still has that warmth and power; alas I haven’t seen Steeleye Span yet – my bucket list overflows …….

I looked up Steeleye Span in Wikipedia, there are six in the group and a list of fifteen members who were, those twenty one members have been coming and going along their history; between 1969 to now there has been 22 lineups! And the link across these years is that voice - Maddy Prior.

I have seen Maddy Prior live once, we went to see Mike Oldfield’s first tour, that was his ‘Incantations’ album on which Maddy Prior was singing ‘The Song of Hiawatha’ it was a very good concert.
