little blue beans
fifty milligrams a scene
diphenhydramine

diphenhydramine
small azure jewels
sleep-causing tools
one might be enough
for a person like you
or at the most two
but me, I’ll take three
diphenhydramine

sometimes I’ll take four
and drool on the floor
I would prob’ly die
if I tried to take five
but thus far I’m still alive
fast-asleep
with no hives
knocked out for twelve hours
or twenty-five
but without them
I’d fall asleep around nine
in the morning
and that can’t be my scene
