Busy, Maybe in The Past

I’ve been busy, I think. -chuckles- This past weekend was one of those where I was busy but I don’t know what I was busy doing.

I worked on maile for quite a bit of time. In fact, I finished the shirt for Ser Smexybear.

And I played Minecraft with the family for a while.

I’m hoping to work some more on maile today. I’ve been working on pricing lists and whatnot tonight too, found some interesting information out.

Part of the pricing list is a cost per ring and it’s kind of scary how much everything costs. For example… If I were to make a pair of short double spiral earrings, I’d use 20 rings an earring, with the rings being 20 gauge 1/8 rings.

If I made the earrings out of Anodized aluminum rings it’d cost me .25, plus the cost of earring wires.

If I made the same pair of earrings out of Machine Cut Anodized Titanium, they’d cost .50 plus the cost of the earring wires.

Saw Cut Anodized Titanium, which is a finer cut and nicer looking would cost .91 plus the cost of the earring wires.

Anodized Niobium, which is the sexiest metal in the world, in my opinion, cost 2.05 plus about two dollars for the earring wires, so about 4.05 to make.

And if I were to make the earrings out of fine silver, which is pretty but not nearly as sexy as the niobium, they’d cost 4.00 in rings, plus about 3.00 for earring wires, sooo about 7.00 for the pair.

So yes, it’s interesting to see it lined up like that. I still want some silver, because I think it’d be sexy to do rings and bracelets in silver, but it’s expensive as hell – going from .10 per ring all the way up to .32 per ring.

I’ll take pictures of Ser Smexybear and post them in my Maile book.

P.S. Thorny, I’m going to start reading the fic tonight hopefully.
