Where was I? Oh yeah, Oklahoma City. A four hour drive to eat at Cracker Barrel. Mom and Sis and Sis's granddaughter Sadie met us there. They had dropped off the grandson Cooper at his grandparent's there in the city. I haven't met him yet.

It was a good lunch. Everyone was ready to get back on the road so it was a fairly quick lunch.

A four hour drive back to Missouri with Mom..

Monday Mom and my little brother and his wife and their granddaughter Maddi showed up for a short visit.

I think it was Wednesday that they showed up again, to take us out to dinner at Chili's. Jassy was working so we took Clayton with us.

And that was it for the visiting until Jassy and I drove north to the RV park and motel to visit last Tuesday. We all went out to Pizza Hut for the buffet. My youngest niece Stephi showed up to eat with us.

Jassy headed back to the city and I stayed for a couple of nights with Mom in the motel.

Thursday morning my brother and I took Mom to the airport. She had found a good priced ticket on Allegiant. $70 for her but they charged $50 for a checked bag and $15 for her carry-on. Ridiculous. I remember flying them years ago with her exact same checked bag as a carry-on. And my briefcase. No charge.

Today I had to drive Jassy to work at 8am and then Clayton to work at 9am. Since I didn't have to pick up Jassy until 1:30pm I decided to go to Bass Pro to look at that Northface Recon knapsack. Mom had given me some money for my birthday so I'd decided to finally buy it. Part of the money was for another phone card. The last phone card seemed such a waste I decided to forgo it for awhile.

I had the measurements for my laptop. I could tell that it wouldn't quite fit in the Recon's laptop sleeve. I shopped around. I finally found an Ascend (Bass Pro's house brand) for ten dollars less with a perfect fit for the laptop and some other features I really liked. I bought it.

Now I've got the entire contents of my briefcase and my little knapsack all tucked away in my new knapsack. It's a little heavy but I believe I'll be able to pare down the weight as time goes on.

The weather has been brutal August hot. Upper nineties for most of the week and more to come. It was 86 degrees in the van last night when I went to bed. It was 77 degrees this morning at 7am. The warmest night so far this summer.

The wifi wasn't working here at Hardees last night. And again tonight. It looks like I'll have to pack up and head over to Burger King again tonight. Ridiculous.

Anyway, I don't have to drive tomorrow so I may head over to the student union and spend the day there. I'd like to finish the current book.

And maybe the free newspapers are being distributed again.

So yeah, Peace Out.
