I have a lot to catch up on. Let’s see if I can do it using status updates via my good friend facebook! ;)

9/15 - Well… just spoke to someone at the clinic about what is taking my referral so long to get from one place to the other. They are waiting on authorization from Humana to treat me. As someone who has worked in a doctor’s office as well as in insurance, I hate that word. I will never get this surgery and I will die waiting. That’s what that dirty word “authorization” really means. I hate insurance. This was not a blessing, this was another thing for me to have to deal with that I somehow no longer understand and my brain sucks and I need a personal assistant!! And the babies have ringworm. I hate my life.
*Yea, all 4 of Sookie’s babies have it, as well as Butters and Baxter. I guess we’re keeping it all in the family. LOL. The vet did say that it does affect kittens more because their immune systems aren’t as developed as an adult cat’s are. But it’s good because it isn’t spreading like you would think. Thank Amy! :) *

9/16 - Well I guess I complained too soon about my insurance. The lady from the clinic just called to say that the authorization came through and therefore she would be calling the surgery scheduler at the Seton Center to give her the referral she needed. Looks like my surgery could happen this week after all. I guess I never should have worked in insurance as well as for a doctor’s office because now when I hear words like authorization and referral, all I can think about are the patients who used to call wanting to know what happened to their referral from months ago. LOL. Also I am still not used to actually having insurance myself. It is quite different being on this side of it I guess. Ha. Still not altogether sure I like it but I guess that’s because I am no longer the one in control of what gets done with the policies! Kinda scary…

9/17 - Just got back from accompanying Mommy to the vet to pick up Jackson’s bro Taco from having a large tumor removed from his butt area. Well, it was on top.. more like the hind quarter area. lol. They said they found more underneath his fur and it already looked hoooorrible. They’re sending it off to be tested to see if it was cancerous. Me and my Mom aren’t too thrilled about how bad they thought it was. The doc also said he found other areas that might be the same thing. I guess we will have to see. He said the pathology will be the main focus now, to tell us what it is. Finally went and turned in the cable box and got a new one. We haven’t been able to access our DVR for days. It told us the hard drive was bad. Before, it was making the audio go out as well as freezing the show and you would lose chunks of what you were watching and just miss that part. Not fun to watch, really. Surprise, since the DVR hasn’t been working, it has gotten better with live TV! Before, it would do that even when you were watching it live. So yea, glad that we have that fixed. And Mommy got phone service while we were there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been beeeeeegggggging her to get one since her cell phone sucks sooo bad. The call gets dropped 99% of the time when we are talking. I am sooo excited. Her phone number is awesome too. lol.

And today - Got back from the doc a while ago. She did my referral and put me on Metformin twice daily for the Diabetes. She also wrote me a script for a testing ,meter and all that comes with it, except she forgot the thing that the lancets GO in. Eh, whatever. I’ll just buy one I guess, if the pharmacy can’t help. Anyway… so yea, I’m all medicated and crap. What now???
* Just so yall know, I recently was able to download my “blog” from Myspace and it contains some pretty cool entries that I don’t even think made it onto OD. OD was down at the time I was writing them. So yea, I will be importing those in here soon. :) Hope yall are doin alright. I will try to leave some notes, but the wife is awake and she likes to talk a lot so I get distracted by her. We’re listening to Janet Jackson. Bye!!

Steph
