I have to have surgery to remove a large part of my cervix. Trying to get them to schedule it is gonna be fun. I did A LOT of calling around until my cellphone died. But I did manage to get someone from the clinic that needs to refer me, and the woman who needs to schedule it, together on the phone at last. LOL. I HATE my insurance. It may be nice for some people, but not for my poor little brain that can’t keep up with crap! Anyway, so it should be soon, just dunno when. They said all the biopsies came back abnormal and because even the ones that were way far in my cervix did too, that this is the procedure recommended. The cone biopsy. Right, another biopsy to get MORE results from. I guess if they are able to get clean margins and all of it then we stop, if not, we proceed to more aggressive stuff, especially if it is cancer. She said that would definitely mean hysterectomy. Of course. After all is said and done, then and only then can I have the Mirena put in. She assured me that it would more than likely stop my periods and not have any bad side effects like weight gain. Anyone out there who has one wanna weigh in?

*Then later, after I had talked to some people I wrote this note on my own status:

And I just talked to the surgery scheduler and they DID talk, (the woman at the clinic I need to go to for my referral and the surgery scheduler) and she is faxing over the papers they need and all that they need to refer me. After I have an appt. with the other gyno: (at the community clinic) she will give me the referral I need, and that is tomorrow at 9:30. Wow, this is gonna be a quick one! Not as quick as my brain surgery was tho, that came right outta the blue! LOL (Since yall were not around when I had my brain biopsy in Jan of 2013, it went something like this: I called and left a message for my Neurologist saying I was having new symptoms. Then they called back and told me they were gonna do surgery on me and to await further instructions. By 7pm, I was sitting in the ER waiting to be admitted. If they hadn’t had to reschedule due to me having taken aspirin as instructed by them for my BP and stroke prevention, then it would have happened that quick!)

And here is a note that was left on my status:

Why not take out the entire uterus? I would insist on it. Hugs. Thinking of you. <3

And then here is my response to that note:

I kinda have, and they just say,”We know you have your reasons, but it wouldn’t be approved because blah blah blah”. If this biopsy does not yield the results they want, and they are unable to get clear margins, then maybe we can revisit the topic. So far I have brought it up every single visit and they have shot me down. I am guessing it’s my age. Well, I am too young to be disabled, sure, but to decide what to do with my own body? Nope. If I had kids there would be NO problem. It’s so backwards and I hate it. Doctors seem to have this “preserve fertility at all costs” mentality even if they are shoving it down your throat. Well, the doc today did say that having this procedure versus the less invasive one I could have had would make fertility very hard. Maybe that will work in my favor in the future. Even my Neurologist, when we were discussing med options for my MS, tried to veer away from the ones that make you infertile. That was back before I KNEW I didn’t want kids, and I agreed then. Now I want ALL the options available to me. It would be my choice if I GOT pregnant, I would like for it to be my choice NOT to, thank you. LOL

*So now yall know pretty much everything. My day still isn’t done, since I have to truck it back up to Walmart, take some things back, get my rent money order and deliver that to landlady, and then drop off my Mom’s money order to her. Phew! Can I fall down now????
