So... in Since OD is shutting down....

I didn’t write much yesterday. I got a text from my brother this morning saying he has court again on the 21st and if he hasn’t paid anything he’s going to be arrested. I know that I probably won’t get it because of TANF but he still needs to be held accountable. I also wonder if he does make a payment, will he have another court date or be let off the hook. I just want to know how this is going to work out. I’m definitely grateful that he’s been threatened with jail because he’s going to be responsible for paying.

My brother was telling me yesterday that they’ll probably just put out another court date in like 6 months and that had me worried. The guy is working now and I don’t want him to just be able to skate by for several more months. He’s gotten enough of a free pass over the past 6 years that he needs to start paying. I don’t appreciate being left to be Mom and Dad every single day where he doesn’t even have to contribute financially. It makes me feel a bit better that the courts are taking this seriously enough to threaten jail time.

My daughter doesn’t have her after school program today or next Friday. I did sign her up for a toy drive on Sunday morning so we’ll go to that. She was definitely tired this morning and I’m glad to pick her up right after school. It’s been a busy week and I know she’s ready to hang out at home and relax.

I went and got her a few gifts. I don’t have a lot of money but I do want to make sure that Christmas is going to be good for her. There’s no promise I’ll see any CS so I am going to do what I can for her. The gifts she’ll get on Sunday I’ll just let her have since she’ll be coming with me and pick out what she wants. There’s another drive on the 19th and I’m going to ask my brother if he’ll watch her while I go.
