Shadow Light in anticlimatic

Disgruntled tonight. In fact, if you’re reading anything I’m writing, I’m almost certain it’s from a need on my part to vent some negative feeling or another. Several come to mind. Frustration. Languor. Apathy. Others. I never feel much like sharing the good feelings. Rather just keep them to myself and drift away on finer seas than this. Aint it always the way? We love to share the shit we don’t want but we’ll fight you with a knife for the shit we do.

Today was a disaster at work. An entire day for nothing. Defeat. I feel about the same for American culture. With the context of having lived through several prior generations, the current state of the zeitgeist is absurd to such an indescribable degree.

When the internet went fully mainstream, somewhere around 2012, we took two of our timeless mottos “Diversity Is Our Strength” and “United We Stand,” bent them over a barrel, and fucked them directly sideways into this Orwellian dystopia we call The Present (what Leonard Cohen once called ‘The Future’).

Instead of applying the concept of “Diversity Is Our Strength” in a tactical fashion that made any sort of sense in logically redeeming the concept on a cultural level- like a natural urging for the dissemination of information and ideas across a broad range of perspectives, to revel in the pitting of them against one another in both physical and theoretical contests, for the sake of discovering the most powerful and useful Truth with which to use for authentic civil and technical progress- we instead apply it to the most superficial and irrelevant characteristics (race, gender, preferred gender to rub genitals with) and hyper focus on that instead. What utility can be made in any of it? We don’t even let them compete. They all just sit together and jerk each other off. What an evolutionary dead-end waste of time.

We could be focusing on what strengths the unique preferences of females, in general, can be used with other strengths that the unique preferences of males, in general, might suggest, by macro analysis. We could let things that are different be different. Instead: This.

How are we going to progress as a species if we nose dive into this silliness as soon as we achieve the means on a national scale to try it out?
