Still warm. in A small but passable life.

I finished reading “Seveneves” by Neil Stephenson and “The House at the End of the World” by Dean Koontz. That makes 19 books read so far this year.

The temp today was 88 degrees. A couple of days more and the temp should drop. I’m running neither of the A/C’s. It’s 82 in here right now with the windows open. The sun is setting and it should cool off soon. I’ve been sleeping with the windows open and the mornings usually cool to around 70. Not bad at all.

One of Mom’s long time friends has had a second stroke. She’ll not be coming home this time. That’s sad. She was the only one who shed tears and broke down in front of me after Mom died. That and telling me I should sue someone. (Dottie, I really miss beating you at Rummikub!)

Daughter and Grandson are doing well. Daughter graduates from her massage school next month. She’ll take the exam and then be state certified. She is planning on coming out for a visit for Christmas. I still haven’t decided on whether to disinvite the knucklehead (Rowan’s dad) or not. I haven’t been too pleased with his behavior since Rowans birth. He’s not stupid. He just acts and behaves stupid. And I have a very, very low tolerance for stupid people. And I hate contradictions. If he were truly stupid, truly an asshole, and physically abusive rather than just verbally abusive, I’d have no compunctions about getting physically abusive with him myself. Like Mike Tyson has said- “Everybody has a plan until they’re punched in the face.”

Anyway, still sitting here in my little hidey hole in the desert.

Be well my friends!
