Property Update #34- Home placements in Tennessee

Today we met up with the foundation guy out on the land. Last time we met up with him he showed up 2 hours late, so we were blown away when he was right on the dot.

Since we have a new survey we needed to go back to the drawing board on home placements. The parcel is only like 200 ft. wide so I wasn’t sure if we were going to be able to put both of the homes side by side facing the road. But I guess it can be done! Bestie was able to move her home forward a little bit on her side. And mine will be a bit in front of hers but not blocking her view at all. He asked us to come back and weed whack around where the flags are so they can be seen.

He also said he might know a farmer that could come out and use his tractor to take out our grass since it has gotten really tall. I am so excited, its been so long since we have seen the land without the tall grass. Its hard to visualize how useable the land is with the grass being so tall.

We also brainstormed a little bit on driveway placements. He said that can be the last thing done in the project and we have some time to think about it. But he might be able to have a singular driveway and have it loop into two separate ones. There are options.

Bestie was supposed to close on her mortgage last Friday but was not able to because the title company needs the legal description of the parcel in order to close. Which is a ONE PAGE thing from our survey company. We were told it could take a couple weeks. They need to close, to lock in their rate once and for all. I could write the description myself, its not that hard. Its so annoying that so much is riding on… one page.

My mortgage is going well. I just submitted the construction costs dollar amounts to the mortgage company. I just need to get a home owners insurance quote and they will be initiating the appraisal of the land and future home. There is only maybe a document or two left to submit, and then after the appraisal, I will have a closing date.
