wit in A transparent lockbox

I have been going through a time of new self-respect and defining what is important to me. There’s this idea that has been drifting around in my head about how finite everything is, our wit, beauty, love, and basically everything we can offer. I have found myself worried about what if I am wasting all these finite resources in places that don’t make me happy. Am I talking to people that don’t deserve my wit? Are my looks being perceived by those who find me nothing more than mediocre? Is my love and affection taken for granted? Only in viewing all of these things as something I can run out of, have I realized the value in them. You should never settle, because what if you are wasting the best parts of yourself on people and places that don’t appreciate them? What if we are bled dry by the mundanity we think we deserve?
