We begin the quest to get ahold of survey companies. The company that did our previous survey told us that there needs to be a fire hydrant within 1000 feet of the property due to a new county planning commission regulation. And we were told that the hydrant could cost up to 6500 and before they would begin the survey they needed the fire hydrant receipt. So during this time I am making phone calls and running around trying to figure out how to obtain that so we could proceed.
I called another surveying company because I was curious about this regulation. They confirmed the county planning committee regulation for the fire hydrant. Next, I reached out to the county utility company and spoke to the manager. He said that currently on the road our property is on, there are only 4 inch water lines which is not enough to support a fire hydrant being installed. In the next 3-5 years they will be installing 12 inch water lines. So we are exempt from having to pay 6k for a fire hydrant!!!
Next, we need to contact the planning committee director to issue a water line waiver and we are good to go with doing this survey. Last time I called this guy he was at the drive thru on his cell phone 🙄
