9/8/23-
We went back to Crossville today to the manufactured home office. Bestie and her hubby got the final numbers for the project calculated and submitted to their mortgage company for approval. Originally we thought that the “improvements” of the home (i.e everything it needs to make it work like septic, electric, plumbing, foundation etc.) would be about 50k extra. Turns out it’s about 70k extra. But this includes a driveway and some deforestation that is needed. She also didn’t get the home design they originally wanted. But our lady we worked with picked them out a similar 5 bedroom 3 bathroom house and it fits in the budget.
There are some differences in the new model mainly in the kitchen. There is no closet pantry. There is no coffee nook. And the cabinets are brown which bestie does not like. (I’m not a fan of this either).... but they can be painted. The bedrooms are a little larger than the other home she originally wanted so she has room to put her work office in the master (its huge) instead of the den. And everyone will have their own rooms.
On the way back, her hubby got a phone call from the mortgage company that had us on edge. They said some of their income couldn’t be used because they claimed too many deductions on it. So we hung up with them and were dead silent for about 30 mins. We all wanted to drive off a cliff (there were plenty of scenic cliff overhangs on our way home LOL). But she called us back and said everything was fine.
My god was that tense.
