Yea, that would be me winning that title right now. I just went to let Dew Dew (cat) out the front door and when I opened it, Jackson was outside! I bout had a heart attack when I saw that, especially considering it had been HOURS since they were put out there! I didn't see Kya, and I called for her but she didn't come. So I hurried up and let Jack in, he seemed to be OK, just a little panty if anything. I checked our bedroom and the kitchen, the only other two places she could be, and then surmised that she was not in the house. When I went back out front and called for her again, she came running around the trailer and she had gotten off her tie out. She had broken her collar to get off. She was having a hard time getting up the 4 steps to our porch and I had no idea why, until she got in the house and I could see she was having a hard time walking. Our poor baby!!! :( I give Kya a hard time, because she just gets on my nerves so much, but it's things like this that go to show you how much you actually love your children. Well, your furry children. Obviously it's not gonna take forgetting your son or daughter in the heat to make you realize you love em! lol. Anyway, I helped her all the way to the kitchen, but she was panting too hard to drink much more than a couple laps. So I made her go into the bedroom where Laura was sleeping and I woke her up and told her what happened and told her to have Kya lay in the bed with her. About 10 minutes later after I figured she wasn't panting quite as bad, I helped her to the kitchen again, and this time she drank quite a bit but it was from a small bowl that I held for her instead of the big bowl on the floor. She also did NOT want to get off the bed and go in there. I had to drag her off the bed (gently of course) and then push her from behind all the way into the kitchen! I feel just beyond horrible. I feel sooo very guilty and like a bad bad Mom. This can't EVER happen again. And it won't. And we don't usually keep water out there either because they aren't out there long enough, for the most part,to need it. So there will always be water out there now, and I think what I can do when it is just me is set an alarm when I put them out. Another thing that didn't happen that usually does to make this a perfect storm was that they did not bark not a single time! I was in the living room watching a movie on the computer, and Laura had gone to bed. She should have reminded me before she lay down for good. But, that's what happens. And it won't be happening again that's for sure!! :( :( It's not hard to see why we won't ever be having any human children! Good lord I feel just horrible! I'm gonna go now and kick myself for the rest of the nite.
