I was down at the Co-op this morning, we were low on crusty bead and crisps, yes crisps not chips here, here chips are consumed hot with a little vinegar and salt! I’m trying to avoid chips and crisps, I need to get serious with my ever lasting diet; that has almost become a way of life! Also I need to take more exercise, as we don’t go far during the high season, driving through Perranporth can be difficult, I’m not sure what some pack for their holidays; but not a brain as it seems to be left at home – a rest while the rest of whole of goes wild.

On holiday some think they can just cross the road to get to the other side, a manoeuvre that isn’t always completed with out LOOKING first! I’m not very trusting as I stand by the side of the road, on the pedestrian crossing by the Co-op last week, I stopped to let a driver pass as he had no idea of stopping; I’m not sure he was aware of my eyes follow him! Really I shouldn’t do that, years ago I gave four builders a one finger wave after near knocking me of my bike, thankfully they had left my road and couldn’t get back; but I still found a little extra power for the peddles …

Years ago I could stand my full six foot one inch and look people in eye, I doubt it sends the same vibes now but it severed me well through life, and those situations were few; just as well really as I can’t fight – I grew tall early – beware the short chap with a chip on his shoulder – not a crisp!

At lest all the people on holiday here are bringing money into Perranporth, a lot of jobs rely on a good summer, just after we moved down here business were closing, partly the bankers activates and a series of poor summers; the last two summers have been ok, plenty of sun but cool winds; just right for me but not for those who like to turn brown! [Often know as red!]

So far this week we have had the better part of the weather forecast, sunny without the passing rain, and as far the lighting it only managed one long rolling groan some miles off; even a friend up in Lancaster tells me their summer has and is good! I think the worst of the weather had crossed over to the east coast, I’ve seen plenty of photographs and videos of bad weather and floods close to the London; and places farther east!

I’m hopping for some clear skies tonight, the clouds seem to come and go after dark, the Supermoon was either behind the trees or behind clouds, and the light of the near supermoon all but washed out the Perseid meteor’s! Before I typed a word about the meteors I had a look at ‘spaceweather.com’ I had thought the peak was over the weekend, but here on the screen it says the peak it tonight; so I expect rain tonight – but you never know!

I’ll moan – I mean write - about the meteors tomorrow ….
