Fourth time unlucky in Adventures in paradise

Yesterday, I caught a bus to Chermside and caught up with Moe and Steve for lunch. We had previously organised to see a movie (Specifically "Sex Tape"), but Steve decided to read reviews and chuck a tanty over them, saying that all the reviews said that the film was horrible. I was watching David Letterman a few nights ago, and one of the stars was on as a guest, and even he seemed a bit iffy when trying to bring up the movie, saying there was more to it than just the Sex Tape. I mean, I still would have watched it. Anything has to be better than that horrific Mrs Browns Boys movie. Ergh. I still feel ashamed I took a guy to see that. He has briefly texted me since then, which is amazing considering I thought that movie ruined any chance of a friendship for both of us - that HOW bad it was.
Anyway, so because Steve was whinging, we decided to just do lunch and catch up and chat. So that was nice. It started out a bit awkward for whatever reason (but no reason in particular) but conversation soon flowed a bit more smoothly, specially when I told them what I'd got up to in Sydney. Whoops, I wasn't meant to tell people about that? Steve then goes, "I haven't done much since I saw you last. I did fist a guy though."
My coffee just about when spewing out of my mouth. He then told me how hot this guy was and that none of his photos did him justice, but he used the same username on every social media platform. He then went onto his Instagram to look for him, but saw his profile was private. The username sounded familiar, so I went onto my Instagram, and I realised that I was following this guy! Haha! And he had like hundreds of pictures! Yeah, he was alright. Very straight-looking guy... who just apparently likes getting a fist up his anus every now and then :)
We wandered around the shops for a while and departed ways. I didn't have to start work until 6pm, so I just hung around for a little while longer until the shops started to close up, then decided to catch the bus back a little earlier just in case something happened (like the bus breaks down or traffic etc) but it was Sunday so I wasn't really too concerned.
Work went really well. I just went straight there and I was told I'd just be facing, so I didn't bring a knife or anything. Of course, I had to fill shit when I got there, so I had to use my hand to open stuff, and it was freezer stuff too, so my hands were freezing, especially after having to face the entire freezer myself later on in the shift. Ah well, Sunday rates woohoo.
The new housemate got the go-ahead to move in, so was texting me asking if I was at home, whilst I was still at Chermside. I told him sorry I wasn't but my housemate might be, and I passed on his number. Then when I was at work, I got another message saying he'll move in at 10am tomorrow instead and asked if I'd be awake.
Then of course, I get home from work and stay up half the night, going to bed around 5:30am. I do remember the birds chirping. I automatically wake up around 8:30am. It still baffles me how my body does that - manages to wake up when it knows I have something important to do. However, I went back to sleep for a few hours, and it was 11:30 when I re-awoke, but there was no text message or missed phone call.
I did get a message shortly afterward and it was the new housemate asking if I was awake, so it was perfect timing really. I heard him bring a few things onto the front balcony before he rang me saying he had arrived. I was in the middle of making some breakfast. I let him in and we spent about a half hour trying to assemble his bed that the old housemate disassembled and left here, and he was happy to use that. I think we were both as hopeless as each other trying to piece that thing together, but it seems to be holding, so if I hear a crash in the middle of the night, I'll know why :P
I still can't pick how this is gonna go. He seems very different from all the other housemates I've had. And this guy comes across as very straight. We chatted for a bit and I gave him his key to the house and the parking permit, and showed him where he is allowed to park in the area, so hopefully he has got the gist of it and can settle in pretty well.
I'm back in my room typing this, with the intention of getting a bit more shut-eye, but I don't know if I will. I'm back at work in 5 and a half hours, then finally some days off, if work leaves me alone. I kind of want to go check the EKKA out again. I went for the first time last year and had a pretty good time, but they'd taken away most of the animals (namely the cats and dogs I wanted to see), so I think it'd be cool to go check it out again. The night show is meant to be pretty impressive.
My housemate just got home and I hear them chatting, so hopefully everyone can get along well, and I hope I'm not now living with a potential psychopath or anything. Apparently he did some research up on me and was at a party and was chatting to this guy there who apparently knows me, and this guy gave me a good rep, which surprised me. I told him, "Wow, a non-bitchy gay guy! How rare."
Oh, my landlord also surprised me yesterday whilst I was at work with a message informing me that JEFF is moving back in here into HIS room. I replied with "OMFG you've got to be kidding me." ERGH. This will be like the 4th time he's moved back in here, and I'm sure I'll have to deal with a whining, passive aggressive person all over again. My landlord must really be stressing out about money. I have no idea how he claims to be really needing it. I've been paying him rent for six damn years as well as countless other housemates here and in Hobart, what the hell is he spending it all on?
At the end of the day, I'm just hoping this new guy is nice, and I have no idea when jeff is moving back in, but all I've been told is "soon."
