Was a reminder of God’s covenant with man. After God destroyed all humanity except for those who kept the law. It’s now paraded ironically with pride for what God labeled an abomination. And it’s supported by most everyone.
I know logically that sodomy can’t exist in a free society. Without forced social acceptance by the State, forced medical care for the inevitable disease, and their unfortunate creation through sexual abuse in childhood, they could not behave in these ways. Of course they aren’t evil, unless and until they expose children to their chosen lifestyle. But they are disgusting. In the same way, I think, that witnessing self harm is disgusting. Because those who self harm are likely to hide it away from the public eye. A functional alcoholic is such because he hides his addiction. Out of a sense of shame, or the knowledge that his behavior is harmful not just to himself but to everyone around him.
So the exercise of pride in this way is evil.
I live in a world increasingly surrounded by this evil. It’s not just pride for pathological sexual deviation, but for drug use, obesity, of all diseases of modernity ( ie, chosen and preventable). And again, it’s evil because it’s harmful. Both to oneself and to others.
More frequently now I find myself wondering about the christian worldview. I hear it said often that it’s wrong because God said so. Is that really all it is, though? Is that what Christians believe in their heart? Or do they believe because there is a reason? Why would God give us logic and reason if we were not then supposed to use it to exercise it in all things, including applying it to what God says? Is it conceivable then to say that God is reason?
