After So Much Effort For So Long in Everyday Ramblings

It is melting hot out there and so hazy with particulate matter from the fires you would never know we have a couple of pretty gorgeous mountains nearby. Even though one of them is missing her top. :) Imperfection, just like this picture is imperfect, all dog days and full moon and getting ready for fall.
I’ve had a lovely relaxing day. And this is a good thing. I got a little carried away with the ridiculous exuberance at the farmer’s market yesterday. They gave me so many organic beets for $3.00 I had to roast them in two batches and the bunch of very fresh mint was so big I had to send half of it home to Kes with Most Honorable today.
He was up here staging a bike ride from my place. Once a year they close down almost all the bridges in our fair town and thousands and thousands of recreational riders traverse them. A couple you can’t ride on any other time of the year.
Most Honorable did the six-bridge ride, which tuned out to be the family ride. Everybody is having fun but it gets kind of treacherous with kids with short attention spans not aware of proper bike etiquette (let alone safety) zooming by in all sorts of strange unexpected ways.
Next year he is doing the eight-bridge ride, which is a little more challenging and a tad bit less, well, crowded.
So with the beets and the beat greens, the raspberries and late blueberries and sweet cherry tomatoes and my favorite orange cranberry Fiber Love bar I ended up waking up in the middle of the night with cramps. Of course I decided, as one is wont to do in he middle of the night that I had e-coli and got myself all worked up but a big glass of room temperature water did the trick and I went back to sleep.
And had disturbed dreams. I dreamed about Sammy for the first time since we have been separated and I dreamed he was trying to snuggle up and I pushed him away… I woke asking forgiveness knowing Mr. Finch is looking after him in the other realm and Most Honorable is looking after him in this one. But still!
I am sure he is fine and knows I miss him. But sadness manifests in our dreams in all sorts of awkward ways.
Kes picked up the “Dance Party” workout video for me from Weight Watchers this week and I did the 20-minute “Easy Groove” this afternoon. It is goofy and mostly fun. Like Jazzercise. They give you these one-pound weight sticks that rattle when you shake them so that adds a little musical rhythm into the mix.
Then I did a gentle yoga practice I got on audio from the teacher I am taking the Senior Yoga certification from in just a few months now. It was nice to hear her voice. I have her Senior Yoga DVD on order too.
The studio owner where I used to teach asked me to sub a couple of morning classes for her week after next. That will be way fun. I am so much more confident in my teaching than I was last time I did this.
And I’ll get paid.
My boss is on vacation but I think he’ll give me the all clear. As long as I get my work done…
Ah. Low key. Such a wonderful restorative feeling after so much effort for so long.
