My brothers and sisters in Iraq and Syria in My this and that

I can't really stop thinking about what is going on in Iraq and Syria and how IS is persecuting and murdering Christians and other religious minorities. It makes me sad, and I've been praying a lot for them. I am so thankful and humbled to be in a place where my greatest worry is words... no one tries to physically harm me for my faith.

Ben was out of town yesterday for the whole day, so I spent the day watching tv. Literally, ALL DAY! I almost finished a whole season of Grey's Anatomy. I also went for a drive to practice driving standard, I'm still not very good. I worked on and finished a painting, which I actually quite like.
My paintings are piling up, and I'm finally ready to get rid of some... For a long time I felt emotionally attached to my paintings, and I guess I still do, but they are just taking up too much room. I wish I could sell them, but who would want to buy them? They aren't particularly grand... even if I like them, myself.
I made chocolate zucchini bread and it turned out FANTASTIC! mmm so good. I can't wait to eat more tonight. I wrote in my journal, and read my book and my Bible, even had a nap. The day was just so relaxing!

I really missed Ben throughout the day though. I had a very hard time falling asleep, and tossed and turned a lot because he wasn't there. And then it started storming. Normally I sleep through them but this one kept me up. FINALLY Ben got home after 1 a.m. and I was able to sleep a little bit better.

Tired today though. I think I'll make pizza and we'll watch a few episodes of Chuck and then we'll both head to bed early.
