So up till about 4 years ago, I kept my hair in various shades of not normal lmao.
purple like my profile photo.Teal. Mermaid and a violet red that started out purple, faded to red in direct light but looked black in artifical light.
4 ish years ago, I shaved my head and ive been natural since. It took a few years to grow out the ugly pixie lol. Now its to my shoulder blades and natural. Its ashy brownish black with a LOT of grey. I have larger white streaks near my face which look really pretty. Its not really grey. Its more of black and white lol. My family goes white not grey. Usually is no color other then white in it. And we go young, Im 38 and im maybe 50%? 70% if you push it. My mom was fully white by 36 when she was pregnant with my little sister.
Ive been feeling that telltale urge to dye my hair for a few months. Maybe its how professional dyes really soften the hair and smooth it out. Maybe its the fun colors, or my coworkers doing streaks or dyes to change it up. Its been YEARS people.
I remember my hair dresser saying, you can either have long hair, or you can dye it. And dyeing it means that ugly grow out phase which is why I shaved it to an inch long to get rid of the dyed hair. No growout. It just means an ugly pixie to grow it out again.
Maybe I do some streaky highlights? A teal under panel?
Clip ins.
Everyone says how amazing my hair is, Despite the no humidity friz I get, and the breakage because my white hair is fragile. Its soft, and the color is quite pretty.
Do I dye it.. I sometimes feel i look older because its natural… but then I have people telling me they would pay hundreds to have white streaks like I have.
age gracefully right.
I hate how thin it is. I cut off about 4 inches a few weeks ago where it was thinning on the bottom and looking gnarly. But over all my hair is fine. Very fine. Like pony tail it all into the diameter of a dime, a penny if you push it. I blowout my hair every other day for volume lol. My daughter gets a braid and ONE strand of her braid is thicker then all of my hair. But im persisting in growing it out long again. I loved it when it hit my hips. It wasnt THIS thin at that point, but it was pretty thin. ive done it twice before in my life. another summer, and it may be long enough.... Its taken longer because of the dang pixie grow out, You have to cut a pixie out as it grows, evening out the layers. It took over a year to get it to one length at my hairline.
Hell two of my boys have long hair on top and shaved sides and that SMALL patch on top is thicker then all of my hair lol. They have hair like their dad. Lucky jerks.
I really miss colors. I miss my purpley red… I just dont want to deal with the grow out. :/
Plus white hair is REALLY hard to color. It dosent take up dye well and it fades fast, just not fade back to white, more like fade to weird colors..
Ugh.
