I had my two MRIs today.
I had a brain scan, and then mapping, and then contrast and another scan of my brain. I took off of work around noon and didnt have chance ot eat lunch. I made it there in record time, so I went to Arbys and grabbed a sandwich. I scarfed it in the car and went in for my MRI.
That was a BAD choice.
This isnt my first brain scan. So im well used to the face cage and chest cage, being in the tube. Every other scan they have given me headphones for music and I zoned out, slept almost with music. This one they gave me earplugs. So i had NOTHING to distract me. NOTHING.
From the all encompassing nausea that lasted almost the entire 1.5 hour long scan.
He pulled me out midway to do the contrast and i asked, Can i please sit up for a moment. He said NO! If you do, we have to remap the cysts in your brain. You cant sit up! I told him I may throw up. He said you have to stay there, or we have to start over. He knows doing two in a row is hard, he normally dosent like two in a row and had no idea why they scheduled me like that. (They asked and I said yeah whatever, one shot get it done)
He got me a sip of water, a cold wet paper towel on my face. Took the cage off and I stayed fucking STILL, holding it down. for probably 15 minutes though it felt like 2. Till my stomach calmed down. Then he put me back in the tube and finished the contrast scan fast. I closed my eyes, breathed deep. dug deep. Thought about wide open walking spaces, fresh air, work, T. Naughty things lmao. ANYTHING to take my mind off my stomach.
When I was finally let out of my cage. I sat up and nearly passed out. He said yeah the MRI pulls at the water molecules in your body which can really make you dizzy. But the further you get from the machine the better you should feel. I had managed to blow out my vein that my IV was in for the contrast, so i leaked blood all over the machine, the blanket ect. He took a few alcohol wipes to get the blood off my arm so he could bandage it.
I literally made it to my car and ripped the wrap off my arm while on the phone with T whining about almost vomiting all over myself laying flat on my back in the MRI cage. God that would have been a nightmare. By the time I got home I was feeling better. I drank some cold watered down soda.
We went to the store and I bought a new bra. Seeing my ribcage is now 35 inches instead of 38, I needed to size down in my band size, a skirt and two dresses. He likes to buy shit for me when we fight.. Which is nice. I mean its my paycheck in there right now lmao. Im having a REALLY hard time finding clothes that fit nicely on my body type.
I got my steps in and tried on way too many things for what I bought.
