on taxes in Bittersweet

We filed our taxes blah blah. We owed from last year. We got a big tax credit this year for putting in solar so we got a refund. Which paid off our back taxes. Yay and fuck. it would have been nice to get that 6K back, Instead we were supposed to get 1200. Ok something. 600 got deposited.
State of Colorado garnished over 600 for when they mississued foodstamps to us at the begining of covid.
Heres the thing.
They sent us a letter in JUNE of last year. Saying the case was TERMINATED due to covid and we no longer OWED the 600 dollars. So they Terminated the charge, Said we do not OWE and then garnished it from our taxes after. So fucking mad. We still had 500 deposited for state of colorado taxes and not the 600 we should have gotten?? Like what the heck. Im so frustrated. The way they do taxes here is SO weird. It was just one tax refund in alaska. Not two like this. And only getting part?
T already called state of colorado and said WHAT THE FUCK. We have a letter in writing STATING it was terminated, NOT garnished! So WTF.
We could REALLY use that money back.....

On the plus side, getting the tax refund for the solar means it lowers our tax bracket and we MAY qualify for medicaid for the kids after T and I income out next month…
