More about the squirrels in Talk Story

Aloha...

Night before last... I was sitting at my dining room table looking out at the forest... and watching the antics of the squirrels that are living in one of the birdhouses...

Mama squirrel was doing her best to coax the babies out of the house... and to climb up onto the roof... with very little success...

The babies would come out... stand on the ledge... and even (at times) stretch their little bodies up to the roof... then dart back into the house...

Mama squirrel was patient... continuing to offer encouragement... but again... with little success...

Finally she grabbed one of the babies by the scruff of it's neck... pulled it up to the top of the house... then up the wire... on to a branch... and off into the forest with it...

She returned about 15 minutes later... repeated the whole process... and relocated the second baby into the forest...

Repeated the process with the third and final baby...

They are now residing in a tree behind my house...
