there has been a revolution here in keeping it postive

I am NOT, I repeat NOT a good housekeeper. I am much better at filling the apartment up than clearing it away. Left to my own devices, I'll spend ALL my time reading or playing on the computer... (Of course with my eyes in a book, I can't see the clutter...)

Yesterday, I cleared part of the area near the computer. I send out letters each month to three friends - so have stationery, address labels, stamps, etc there. I also send out at least 5 books a week to people in the book exchanges, so need those items near the computer (where I get the notices of what books to send).

The material was pretty much all jumbled in a box. I put the items in separate envelopes... and threw out a bit of paperwork here and there that I no longer needed. Since I spend so much time at the computer... in that corner of the living room... just that little bit of straightening out made a bit of psychological difference.

I am well aware of how clutter vs. clear affects people... me too. Yet, it's just so much "easier" to just do nothing.

After some time, I decided to clear the bed. I have a queen size bed and since I sleep alone, "things" get put down next to me. Years worth of things. You'd think, since I am alone, I'd sprawl in the middle of the bed, but no... I still sleep on my "side" of the bed - the one nearest to the door.

I cleared, threw out trash, put things away... and had a clear space. Then I had to go out to the dollar store and get a dust pan and brush to clear off the cat hair and other items tracked in by the cat... I am not quite done, but it is MUCH clearer. More to go on the bed... and on the apartment.

I don't know what to attribute this change to ... but it's a GOOD revolution to be sure!
