FAVORITE SOUND: Starting an old 27-cylinder supercharged Wright radial airplane engine. Repeat for the other 3 engines.

WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD: when the phone to my heart rings but does not answer... it's not been ringing recently.

BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD: when I open my P O Box and discover a card, a letter, describing the same sentiment I have for the sender

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THIS YEAR: Going to that Solstice Gathering, hoping to accomplish a bunch of work, but nada.

FAVORITE FOODS: a 12-ounce mesquite-grilled filet mignon, preceded by a dozen oysters on the half shell, at Binion's Ranch - the steakhouse at the top of Binion's Horseshoe Hotel + Casino, downtown Las Vegas; Mom's meatloaf; bratwurst and sauerkraut [and cream puffs!], Schmidt's Sausage Haus, Columbus, OH; Boston Chicken Rotisserie's roasted chicken, various locations; MCL Cafeterias' fried chicken and also fresh roast turkey, various locations; virtually any of the fresh fish on the menu at Fiftyfive at Crosswoods or Fiftyfive on the Boulevard [I have not yet seen a presentation as inspired as the halibut, sauteed, finished with an orange buerre-blanc] as well as the famous Fiftyfive house salad (hold the blue cheese, please); the pork dinner at Cafe Lindevang on West Bridge Street in Copenhagen; Church's fried chicken, as well [a friend in Las Vegas turned me on to them]... and then there's that wonderful Sunday Brunch which is no longer served out at Bryn Mawr..; and the seared ahi tuna with wasabi horseradish on the side at the Chart Room, Grand Aleutian Hotel, Dutch Harbor, AK.

DO YOU GET ALONG WITH YOUR PARENTS?: Yes, partly because they're in Ohio and I'm in Paradise.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A CRIME?: No, aside from a couple traffic tickets.

DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE?: yes.

DO YOU SLEEP WITH STUFFED ANIMALS?: Not currently....

WHAT TYPE OF CAR WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?: a red 1971 Volvo station wagon, built when Volvo was changing from sports cars to family cars. Shared it with my sisters. The first car I ever owned is the one I drive now, a 1986 white Subaru station wagon.

ARE YOU A RIGHTY, LEFTY OR AMBIDEXTROUS?: Depends on what I'm doing. I write lefty, drink and eat righty, can fly from either seat in the cockpit.

DO YOU TYPE WITH YOUR FINGERS ON THE RIGHT KEYS?: No.

IF YOU COULD BE A GARDENING TOOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?:

WHAT'S UNDER YOUR BED?: Nothing. The motel provides the pedestal with drawers, but I haven't placed anything in those drawers.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAR?: A Cadillac before about 1970... couldn't pass a gas station, and looked mighty fine doing it.

FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH: baseball. A couple hot dogs and a beer go really well with it, in person.
