Blossom in through the looking glass.

I have this picture of him sitting in the grass, gripping a stick in his fist, grinning at us cheesy and triumphant. In the background is the Tidal Basin and the cherry blossom trees, full and white with just a hint of pink, March 2020.
For me it represents so much of how we did our very best to carry on, to be thoughtful, yes, but to always find a way to carry on.
Now we bring them both to this place. He never really stops moving long enough for a real picture, but he still carries a stick. And of course she does too.
I’m so glad we kept going then. I think we were so much better for it. We are so much better for it.
And I hope I can always call this to mind, in these times where the difficulties dominant and linger, to find the joy where we can.
