It's amazing how after a long term run of bad luck, things turn around all at once.
Ben got his permanent route with Coke. Effective this week, he works Wednesday through Saturday. This frees up Sundays for me since I was worried about taking any new position that would require me to work Sundays. My biggest concern was when he did get his permanent route, he'd be working Sunday's. If that happened, since my parents work Sunday's and can't watch Robbie, I'd have to decline any promotion if it didn't come with Sunday's off.
We found out for sure about his route Thursday.
I decided on Friday that I would be willing to go to the Customer Service side if it means getting my own team and talked about it with Ben Friday night. In charging has given me a taste of what I could have and I have really enjoyed it.
Saturday evening, while waiting in the guard shack at work for Ben to pick me up, I was approached by one of the OM's, Tiffany, about an open team under her ops group that is in need of a supervisor. 12pm to 9pm, with either Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday off.
I expressed my interest. Since we were both leaving and were off today, we agreed to discuss it more on Monday.
I really shouldn't be nervous since every OM has stated their interest in me since I went through the Supportive Org supervisor training, but I am. The fear is mostly fear of letting people down since they have such high expectations of me. Everyone at work thinks I'm silly for it. The team I'm in charging loves me and has stated they'll miss me when their supervisor is back. I think I impressed Krystal with how thorough and detail oriented I am when it comes to fighting for the people on the team and making sure things are fair. I'm not the type of person to go down without a fight and sure as hell won't let anyone I'm responsible for go down without one either.
It's really funny how fast things go when you make up your mind. And how everything can fall into place all at once.
