There were free fireworks.... in These titles mean nothing.

... at the game last night.

They came with southern country music. We were in the high bleachers behind THIRD base and there was a speaker on the post right beside us.

Loggers lost 3-0 to the Green Bay Bullfrogs who had a casually stylish pitcher with a bit of a mullet. Yeah, I know. A Bullfrog with a mullet. The mind boggles.

Owner Kapanke stopped by on his popcorn and crackerjacks route and said his players were looking at a lot of third strikes. He maintains a calm demeanor. And he has a terrific tan.

Note new video scoreboard - same quality as the big leagues! - and astroturf-ish infield. I am getting used to both of them.

We were behind the Bullfrogs dugout. The sun was low in the west - to the left in my pictures. One of the players would come out without a cap - he had this impressive head of golden hair - a tall young Robert Redford. He might have been number 24, I didn't get a program. Or a picture of the sun glowing on his blond god-ness.

Other things I didn't get a picture of were:

  • the two airliners that came into the airport - flying south to north
  • the two foul balls that sailed by us - flying north to south
  • the long-haired blonde goddess that might have been number 24's girlfriend.

I did get a picture though of the closing seconds of the Leinenkugel's race. Canoe Paddler won, meaning that particular variety of beer would sell at a reduced price throughout the game.

Big crowd. More than 3600 and all the seats were filled, even the ones by the high water.
