Asshat! in A small but passable life.

Liam is an ass. I don't know what time Clayton left to be to work at 11pm for an overnight shift, but I was here at 10:45pm and I could hear the little asshole barking and howling as I walked up to the parking lot. And just like a little kid who's shit his diaper when he knows how to use the toilet, he looked guilty as hell when I walked in. I told him to go lay down. Asshat.

So yeah, I'm dog sitting tonight. Jassy's mom came and picked Jassy up this afternoon. They are going to take Mama's roommate to the train station in Kansas City tomorrow morning. And then they'll be coming back here sometime tomorrow with a Queen sized bed tied on top of the Cherokee. Jassy's mom found the bed for $30. I hope it's worth buying and hauling back here.

Things have settled into a routine, pretty much. Jassy takes Liam out for his morning walk and they stop by the van to tell me the coffee is on. I go up and drink coffee and visit. When it is too hot to go back out to the van I just sit in my great-grandmother's rocking chair and read all day. If there's dishes to wash I do that. If Jassy wants me to help her cook I do that. After supper I pack up and walk the fifteen minutes down the road to my Hardee's. At midnight I walk back to the van and crawl in bed to sleep.

I finished reading Book 12 "The Gathering Storm" in the Jordan series today. Jassy needed to go to the credit union today so I rode along and she stopped at the library for me. I turned in the book and found Book 13 waiting for me to check out. Nice.

The last time Clayton and I were on our own for supper because Jassy was at work Clayton cooked dinner. So I cooked dinner tonight.

Jassy thinks she'll have the insurance bought and the broken window in the van fixed soon. She's really worried about the brakes on her car. They've already spent too much money on that car and she doesn't want to spend any more. I've already got all my gear out of the van and stashed in the spare bedroom. Most of the kitchen camping gear is being used most every day in her kitchen. Since everything I have/had is basic and high quality she'll really be missing it if I ever get my own kitchen and take it all back. HA!

Since I'm home alone tonight I may be taking a very long, very hot bath. It has been nearly three years since I've soaked in a tub. I'm still trying to get used to being able to shower whenever I want to. So strange. I make sure to try to do it at least once a week. A first world conundrum for sure.

Jassy said, "Guess who I saw at work today?" Only one name popped into my head. "Brenda?" "Yep. And she still has those crazy eyebrows!"

I haven't seen that woman since before Annette disappeared. And Annette disappeared the first part of 2006.

So yeah, just life here. Day to day.
