Alone Time in My Musings

They say man is a social being, and I wholeheartedly agree. However, as a true introvert, there’s a certain solace to being by my lonesome - this past Saturday was a great example.

Almost a month ago, I purchased a book by Khaled Hosseini entitled “And the Mountains Echoed”. My initial plan was to finish it in a span of 9 weeks (the book is 443 pages long), but only a week had elapsed since I almost breached the halfway mark. There was pretty much nothing else to do, so I got in a reading mood (with coffee music playing in the background) and finished the entire thing. It was both surprising and fulfilling because it has been more than a decade since I last picked up a book. To say that I was thoroughly absorbed is an understatement, but I’m glad that I’ve discovered the joys of reading once again, and give myself some well-deserved downtime.
