The second half of the Melbourne trip went quicker than the first half. Whether that’s because I’d adapted a little to the sun at night or if it’s because I was actually having fun, I’m not sure. Maybe a little of both.

Again, I was lazy, but went out for an explore each day. I went to Williamstown Beach on the Wednesday (on Kylie’s recommendation) and then checked out the township itself. I’m glad I wore sunscreen, as it was a rather warm day. The beach was pretty busy and I realised that nobody in Melbourne must work on Wednesdays lol. Anyway, it was good though as I just followed the masses of girls in swimwear to find where the beach was. I liked the old-school milk bar near the train station, as they don’t seem to exist anymore in my state.

There weren’t any waves or anything, and the sand seemed a lot more coarse than what I’m used to, but hey, it was nice to explore and wander around. I contemplated eating something at one of the beach shops but ended up going into town and eating at a local pub. I felt embarrassed when a lovely lady saw me taking a selfie and offered to take a photo of me, but all I could think of was how stupid I would look sitting alone in a public bar smiling for a photo haha.

I just had to look up in my phone when I did what, as a lot has happened in the past week and I haven’t written often enough to keep up (not often that happens) but that night Kylie and her husband took me out to dinner! I got picked up at the hotel and we went to a place, appropriately titled, “11 inch pizza” :P

Kylie is very impressed with her 11-inches :P

And here’s me and J with ours

I mean, of course I’m impressed! :D
And it was bloody delish too! Great choice of venue!

A lovely girl took a snap of us outside

On Thursday I took the tram to St. Kilda. I’ve been before, but it was nice to see it again and see what’s changed. I remember last time I stayed on St Kilda Road and there was a lot of construction happening, so it was nice to see all/most of that done now.

I thought this beach was a bit nicer than Williamstown, but probably just cos of the sand and trees, oh and surprisingly less busy.

Of course can’t go there without getting a snap of Luna Park. Sydney has one as well but my city doesn’t.

Just my mug back in the hotel after tiring myself out and needing my midday nanna nap lol

Friday was probably the most overcast day, but I knew it was going to be cooler than the previous days and the following, so I had to get out and be touristy. Today was a Docklands and city kinda day.

Oh and checking out the Australian Open, even though it hadn’t started yet. There was an exhibition match that evening between Kygios and Djokovic that I saw there were some tickets left to, but I ended up just watching it on TV in the hotel instead.

There were some people playing on the outside courts that I could see, and by the way they were hitting it, they seemed professional, but I didn’t see any big-namers boooo. I was there too early, but still cool to see. I’m back home watching it on TV now. Omg they are closing the roof due to rain! Crazy how I managed to avoid that last week there, for once lol.

I went into the city and caught up with Luke (an ex boyfriend). He was so kind to me, telling me to put away my wallet when I ordered (even gave me my booze for free!). We managed to have a bit of a catch-up between him having to duck off now and then to tend to things, and it was so nice to see him. He and his boyfriend are working very long days it seems, but that’s nothing unusual for Luke. Kind of crazy hearing about people working double the amount of hours I do most weeks. Unfortunately I didn’t get a pic with Luke, but I figured he was in work clothes and probably wasn’t the right time haha. So glad I went in there though. I had popped in earlier in the week but didn’t see him.

And of course the lovely Yarra River.

Federation Square. God, such a tourist. But I swear my other pics from years ago were probably taken in horrid weather, as that had always been my experience of Melbourne until now haha.

Oh, and I chatted to a couple of guys whilst in Melbourne on the apps, but had never hooked up with anyone there, but I finally did on my final night there. And it was gooooooooood. Like, holy-shit good. Turns out he had been in Sydney at his parents house earlier so frustratingly couldn’t do anything. Let’s just say I think I think I nearly drowned the guy :P

And on my last day in Melbourne, after I checked out, Kylie kindly picked me up again and gave me a grand tour of her local area! How cool! It amazed me how just her area seemed more impressive than my entire area, and I’m in the middle of a city haha.

Werribee Mansion

Sorry, the sign made me laugh

Selfie time!

I went back to Kylie’s home where her hubby and two kitty’s were. I have spent years reading about her two little fluffballs but it was my first time meeting them! I was expecting Smudge to be mean to me, but she kind of just starred at me the entire time before nodding off, and Gary was a little too shy to interact with me, but he took a fascination to one of my shoelaces haha. So cute to finally meet them.

I only got a (bad) pic of Gary and none of Smudge unfotunately lol.

Kylie kindly dropped me off at the airport, and the flight home was fine, despite a little turbulence as the plane was rising and I thought I was gonna hurl, but fine otherwise thankfully. I had to get back in time for the Rina Sawayama concert, so thankfully the flight wasn’t delayed.

It was SO good. So impressed. It looked like the entirety of gay-Brisbane was there, but it was a small, packed venue so I didn’t see a lot of them until looking at their socials later. It looked like one guy who now lives in Melbourne had flown up just to see her lol, much like I had, but I literally live across the street from the venue where she performed at, so that was convenient.

Again, bad photo but oh well. Loved the concert! She has quite a bit of sass!
Elton John was performing back in Melbourne that same night and I had to wonder if they had gotten together to perform their duet there. Prob not, but woulda been cool! That was another thing I could have done with my Friday evening in Melbourne, but didn’t. Just as well because apparently Molly Meldrum mooned the crowd and it may have put me off my trip :P

Dammit, looks like Youtube doesn’t work automatically here anymore :( Anyway, here’s what I took of her performing.

Phew!

And yesterday morning, I caught up with Moe, Steve, Rhys and Luke for Steve’s birthday at Event Cinemas in Chermside. We saw “Avatar: The Way Of Water” in 4Dx. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but let’s just say, it was pretty wild. Like, the chairs weren’t just moving casually, they threw us around for a lot of the three+-hour movie, and quite rough at times LOL. I actually found myself wanting to walk out just during the PREVIEWS, as the chairs moved in those as well, and I thought I was going to be sick, but I didn’t. I stuck it out and I’m glad I did. I started to get used to the movements after about 20-30 minutes. The chairs moved, poked you in the back, water sprayed from the seats in front and from the ceiling, and lights and fans blew from either side of the cinema. The problem was the fans made it feel cold from the misty water, and I was SO glad I had decided not to wear a singlet. Steve was next to me and leaned over at one point and said, “Brace yourself”, as he must have looked up when the roughest part of the movie was going to me. I’m glad my drink had a lid on it lol. Also, the chair blowing wind on my ear everytime someone got shot in the movie was a little bit strange. At the end of the movie, we all bagged out of Steve’s idea to go there and laughed at what we thought was stupid about it whilst we grabbed sushi afterwards.

Anyway, that’s it from me for now!

I think my views on Melbourne have softened after it’s weather was kind to me lol, and of course it was nice catching up with some friends who really made the trip. Oh and of course the sex. So all in all, can’t complain! :)

Oh and this morning I had my appointment at the doctor’s again to see how my leg veins are doing. There was a new nurse there whom I hadn’t seen before, and I was stunned when the doctor said that he could perform the surgery right then and there. I thought I was just there for a follow-up, and I asked if he had time. Next thing I knew, I was up on the table having my other leg injected! So I wasn’t expecting that today, nor to be back in my stocking once again and in a bit of pain when I walk, but I am used to that now. I just have to keep them on for the next four days (so not looking forward to the gladwrap in the shower fun again) and then I’m back next week for a follow up. Both the doctor and the new nurse think I’ll probably need one more session of injections and I’ll be all done, thank God. Oh and he honoured his promise of giving me these injections for half-price too, which was nice. I need to pay off my holiday lol.
