What a difference a few days make, last week we couldn’t get on the beach as the tide was in, all the way in! Last night we walked down the beach but didn’t reach the sea, the tide has retreated far beyond the Chapel Rock; when the tide is fully out Perranporth has a huge beach.

We took Lola with us, we get a feeling from Lola that she would rather go out with our Daughter; we old folks are a little slow for her liking. This old folk is defiantly to slow, and he keeps stopping to look though something! With the water so far out we passed rocks clustered with shellfish, Lola has a sniff but didn’t try to eat any, they are sharp on a small black nose.

Perhaps it was being Monday evening, there were not many people on the beach, off in the distant I could see the lady from last week, she always have four dogs with; and two of them are Westies. The air was a little cold last night, I found it just a little sharp ‘pleasantly cool’ Our summer so far this year has been my sort of summer, ‘pleasantly warm’

Looking back I could see the sunset reflecting on the glass of the Watering Hole, we have been here five years and haven’t been through the door yet. Once the sun reaches it own diameter from the horizon, it seems time goes up a gear, and very soon we are stood on the sand watching the last sliver of the sun a line on the water; and it’s done. The colour of the sunset had been quite close to the sun, a golden area enclosed with in the dusk blue sky; soon we are left with a soft warmth when the sun set in a dusky evening sky.
