The Sequel in Current Events

The opportunity to apply for a full-time position on my team has come again. It was unexpected. It wasn’t supposed to be posted internally until next week but our HR posted it early. According to my supervisor. She didn’t seem too pleased that her thunder was stolen. She didn’t get a chance to announce it to us. Only the part-time position we knew about.

I was confident that I had it in the bag last time. My only competition was the lazy cow on my team and she ended up getting it. This time around there is nobody in my way from what I can see but I don’t want to get my hopes up. I am taking evening classes, this could get in my way. Also, I didn’t take rejection well last time so that could be in my way also. People from all over the store are applying for it also but I am the obvious choice.

My team makes more than everybody else. We don’t do shift work, we only work weekdays 6 am-2:30 pm. We’re also not directly in customer service so this is a very appealing opportunity for everybody. We all just got a raise also which takes effect next week so there is that.

With a full-time position, I can afford this apartment on my own. Preferably I would like to not do that but I’m not too confident about my living situation. Toni wants us to find a better place but this place is absolutely amazing for what we pay.

Anyway, I have class soon and I’m just cramming in some of my studies. Wanted to air out first, naturally. I have to know this material inside-out for this class or it will be a complete waste of my time, according to my teacher. I refuse to be confident that I got this one in the bag also.
