The more things change the more they stay the same... in These titles mean nothing.

I found this on the back page of an old notebook.
It was titled 100 Goals and dated 7-16-91.
I got as far as 14.
-
weigh less than 140 lbs. (ha ha ha I suppose I weight somewhere around 180 right now. I might have gotten below 150 briefly in the years since 1991 but never below 140.)
-
keep my teeth clean (not a big success there either.)
-
walk 5 miles most days (I did for a lot of days but I don’t any more.)
-
talk to my husband (he stopped talking back in 2002.)
-
do 20 situps a day (what?)
-
run (if my joints can take it) (another what?)
-
save some money (I have saved some money.)
-
remain employed ( I have, not at the same place though. I have had two jobs shot out from under me. I hope that doesn’t happen again.)
-
eat less sugar ( I gave up sugar 5-1-13 - with only a few minor lapses.)
-
eat less fat (I don’t pay much attention to fat)
-
buy a pair of dress shoes that fit (I still need to do that)
-
get John M. launched (John M. is launched.)
-
organize my clothes (oh god no)
-
organize the bookshelf (apparently I only had one at the time. now I have half a dozen and none are organized. neither are the piles.)
Beneath the list of goals on the last page of the notebook is pasted a photo from a magazine. It’s of many people in the surf with a gray sky and foggy misty high-rise buildings in the background.
The caption says: Smog-shrouded Rio: Will heads of state quit quibbling here and strike a historic eco-agenda?
