R.I.P Queen Elizabeth II in Political shit

I exclaimed, “Oh Lizzy!” out loud when I turned on the TV this morning. I think I’m more shocked at how quickly it happened. When I went to bed last night, the word was that her health had deteriorated, and her family went to be by her side (which isn’t a good sign) but I didn’t think much more of it as she was seen only 48 hours ago up and active and smiling meeting the new UK Prime Minister. She’d pulled through before, why wouldn’t she again? But yeah! End of an era. It’s like that one lady outside Buckingham Palace said, “She’s been my queen my whole life.” I think she was for a lot of us. So I feel it’s something I should write about.
It did make me smile seeing the U.S. flying their flags across the country at half-mast. She transcended politics, and people who knew her say she made people feel at ease. She visited Australia 16 times during the time of her reign. And how cute was that Paddington Bear sketch at her Golden Jubilee?
So I guess all I have to say is it’s been really nice having someone like her as a monarch in my lifetime. RIP Queen Elizabeth.
