Watching in At the foot of the hill

Yesterday when I woke up I noticed that one of my surgical sites was tender, surrounded by red and kind of pussy. I touched it, ever so gently and the scab popped off and it began draining... Not being one to panic (!) I got into the shower and washed it good, treated it with Neosporin and put a light dressing on the site.

My surgeon made it clear that he's done with me and if I had any problems I should go to the emergency room. I decided I'd watch it for a day before trudging across the street to the ER.

It is much better today, although still draining a little. The red is almost gone and it is not so tender. It's going to be fine.

After being discharged by my surgeon, I went and got that blood test my GI wanted done, checking for the bacteria that causes ulcers. I was to have that test and then a follow-up with her PA. Got a card in the mail that the test was negative and I wouldn't need the follow up, so was able to cancel that appointment.

Today I am going to the eye doctor. Have been putting that off for months, hoping to get all these other issues managed. If there is light at the end of the tunnel, maybe I'll be able to see it!
