  1. She was Irish.
  2. She was Catholic.
  3. She was smart.
  4. She prized neatness.
  5. She wanted big things from/for me.
  6. Her hair got gray early.
  7. She had been a country school teacher.
  8. She liked her garden and her chickens.
  9. She had never learned to drive a car.
  10. She never went to the doctor.
  11. She never went to the dentist.
  12. She went to confession.
  13. She didn’t go to the library.
  14. Once for a short time she belonged to a cut-rate version of a book of the month club. I wish I still had her books.
  15. She started a study club for neighbor Catholic farm wives and named it after Kateri Tekaakwitha. Here’s a prayer to her - Kateri, not my mother. https://www.dosp.org/our-faith/prayers/prayer-to-st-kateri-tekakwitha-2/
  16. She had beautiful and distinctive handwriting. She knew how to spell. I could do neither.
  17. She made me take piano lessons.
  18. I am pretty certain my mother is helping me and my family avoid car accidents.
  19. She didn’t like cats and would not allow any kind of animal in the house.
  20. She was close to her parents and siblings.

I’m pretty sure I’ve done this before. But if I can’t remember you probably can’t either.
