visit in Second 1st

Destiny made choices, calls, and arrangements and headed down to TN on Monday. I watched her progress in Life360 and finally got to poke fun at her for the hours it takes to get here. From Lapeer, MI to Columbia, TN right at 12 hours. I tell her that all the time she says it takes her 8 and we don’t fight about it. I just make excuses like “well, Rocky’s back and needs to stop and stretch n stuff.” “Mom’s older and will need more bathroom breaks than we do.” So I did do a bit of rubbing it in her face “Hey, what time did you leave?” “You are 20 mins from the hospital and in 20 mins you will have been on the road for.... 12 hours.... just saying” ..... of course, she was all like “Time change” and “breakfast and poop” lol Whatever.....

So Monday they went straight to the hospital and then came here for the night. It was Chris (her oldest), Gabby and herself. Chris volunteered to sleep in my chair.... which is great for a nap but not so good for 2-3 nights of sleep. He managed, and the girls shared the Queen bed in the guest room. They ordered pizza for dinner from Jet’s and they got it wrong.... Destiny called to have it remade… it was a whole mess and now there is a small leftover pizza I keep telling Gabby yo eat.... if it’s not eaten today it’s trash.

Getting ahead of myself....

Tuesday I went to the hospital with Gabby and Dest. Chris stayed home with Rocky and played games. Once we got to the hospital we had a small family chit-chat with James’ mom and aunt. His body was still here and whole but he was not. His mom said, “I can’t see him anymore and I don’t suggest you do.” Then every time a new member of the party came along (sister, brother, girlfriend)… they discouraged her from going up. Encouraging that she remember him like he was last summer. That he looked better the day before than he did Tuesday. Destiny went up “to get some notes from the nurse” and slipped into the room. She also agreed not to have Gabby got up. We stayed a couple hours and came back home.

Destiny and Chris have gone back home. Destiny had a DNC scheduled that she couldn’t move. Gabby’s Uncle Jackie paid for a plane ticket for Saturday and I’ll take her to the airport. I’ll be taking her to Lewisburg today for a party. Something James would like. His mom will drive her back here when it’s over. He will be cremated and his mom has agreed to give some ashes to Gabby when that’s all sorted. .... tentative plans for Christmas.

Flight out leaves at 5:30 tomorrow… or something like that.... so pretty much my weekend is shot. There will be no chill days off … and it’s been a stressful week…

I have managed 200 so far… and I know I can make up whatever in the next few weeks .....

We went to the Zoo Tuesday. Destiny wanted to see one of her other friends while she was down here. .... and something to get Gabby’s mind off the reason she was here at all. It was a huge waste to me.... and caused some major issues for me..... but it went okay.... until we were back in the can and she called James’ mom.... he’s gone. It was 94 degrees (34F) and we only had 2 hours till they closed....

I’ve been able to get in a few hours of work in the mornings but I’m going to be way behind.... still.... not like you can plan for this kind of thing.
