The kids had a great time at the field day on Friday. It ended up being a good day for them to spend time outside. I put lots of sunscreen on them. They had outdoor games and activities. The school has a large lawn area. The kids have no school today. They have half-days Tuesday and Wednesday, and that is it for the school year. My babies are going to be in seventh and fourth grades.

My cousin's wedding was great. There was fantastic weather for the wedding. I arrived on Wednesday and the kids came down after school on Friday. The wedding was at a church and the reception was at a restaurant by the Hudson River. There is a hotel connected to the restaurant where we all stayed. Everything went perfectly. I've never heard of a wedding where everything goes perfectly, but hers did. The groom's niece and nephew were flower girl and ringbearer. They were great. The only time they got tired was during the last two photos after the ceremony. We told them they would have lots of fun dancing at the reception, and they did. The kids danced almost the entire time. I was the maid of honor. There were five other bridesmaids.

My kids had a fantastic time. There were several other kids around their age they hung out with. The hotel can hold several weddings at once. I thought my cousin's wedding would be the biggest but there was another huge wedding there. It was a traditional Indian wedding and the female guests were wearing saris. The wedding went on over several days. The actual ceremony was on Saturday. We looked in to the room that morning and there were elephant statues in front. I think elephants have a special significance in the Hindu religion? I will have to look it up.

We just flew back home this morning. It is really good that the kids just have two half-days of school left, because they are tired. They need some time to recover from the wedding.

EDIT: I was reading this entry and realized the part about the sunscreen didn't make any sense. My husband put the sunscreen on the kids ( I told him to!) and flew down with them on Friday for the wedding. I am still a spaced-out bridesmaid, ha ha.
