Not Cancer!!! in Still Listening to Spirit

Okay, so this will be short for now to get the word out.
The CT scan showed that whatever is in Bill's lungs is not cancer, doesn't resemble cancer in any way, shape, or form.
So what is it?
They explored that with some tests and discussions with 'experts' and came up with TB. So they got a really good sputum sample (gross and the respiratory doctor delighted in showing it to me like a 4th grader shoving a big booger in front of a girl's face). The respiratory doctor got his training in Atlanta and worked in a small hospital in the next suburb over from Forest Park where I lived all the time I was there.
Anyway, so they put some 'stuff' under his skin on the inside of his forearm. In 48 hours, it would determine to be positive or negative depending on how the skin reacted.
We checked it when we were almost back to Our Town on the ferry and all I saw was a blue bruise. Didn't look like what I was told it would look like.
Boy we were hoping for TB, curable with antibiotics in 8 weeks or so.
I called Lynn and left a message for her. She called me back when we were coming into the garage after Carol picked us up at the ferry. She came over at 4:30 rather than have us come into the clinic--less contact, less impact--everyone there had to have the TB test since Bill was there twice.
She came by. Not TB either. So we will wait on the other cultures the hospital in Juneau is doing to see what it is.....
A mystery. Bill is better, stronger, more on the trip, his sister and so on when I have more time and energy.
Blessed be! Not cancer.

Well, goodness me, it is amazing how one's perspective alter. TB to many is an awful diagnosis, how much better than something untreatable! I just hope that whatever it is can be pinned down so you can plan for what happens next ... meanwhile many good wishes for you both from Down Here.

We were as stunned to hear that as we were to hear the word 'cancer' in the first place. No celebration, no jumping up and down and hugging and crying--partly because we weren't yet believing cancer. Wow the world turns as it turns and suddenly it seems to tilt just a bit too much throwing us all off a bit. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Wonderful news to start. We will all be waiting to find out the correct diagnosis. Prayers still coming from here.

wonderful news indeed. Still stunned over the whole bizarre whirlwind, a very long journey emotionally in a very short time. Always grateful for prayers.

Wow, go away for a month or two and what happens when I come back! I'm so glad you are not dealing with cancer. My good wishes are with you.

How fantastic! I am so pleased. Fibrosis? Just wondering from Kermit's experience. Often a puzzle. Bet Bill feels better just knowing it's not cancer. I know that I do.

It may be one of the unsolved mysteries of your (and Bill's) life. For all we know, whatever it WAS was healed either spontaneously or through prayer. Interesting, though, that getting good news (not cancer!) can be nearly as powerful as a placebo (which is quite effective!). Anyway, this is good news and I'm glad he's feeling better and that you seem less weighed down by it all. I continue to pray!

I wonder, do you have anything like Valley Fever in Alaska? Basically, it's type of fungus that lives in the dirt here in AZ, but also sometimes gets in human lungs and can cause all sorts of problems. It's easy to test for; and in fact, I've been thinking about requesting a test for Randy, as we still don't know what's going on with him.
