The Known World in Everyday Ramblings

I am so drawn to color. Maybe I was a particular kind of insect in a former life attracted to color. This is from the garden this morning just after sunrise, which is getting later and later. The light is changing.

One of my morning students broke her foot playing with her dog out in the yard over the weekend. He had dug a little hole earlier and the grass covered it up and she jammed the side of her foot in it. She is taking it as well as one can. No cast, but a boot for weeks as she heals.

There are three men taking the siding off the east facing side of the building I live in. Good thing I am not trying to teach right now. They came right after I finished this morning.

Kes and Most Honorable are out at the beach for the week. One of my other students is over in Eastern Oregon on a beautiful river near where we stayed eight years ago for my birthday. This morning they were both in class from these places. The magic of Zoom.

I have students going to Spain and another couple going to Istanbul in the next few weeks. I don’t think I can tempt them to join class from there but that would be lovely.

Once again, I banged up against some physical limitations and yesterday I was tired and draggy all day long. I am trying to integrate weightlifting into my routine again and finding out what is too much to get ready for the Bone Builder’s class that starts in 5 weeks. The teacher has basically been telling us to get ready.

Yesterday the teacher in the Core class series that I am taking once a week told us that the next module is on Balance. We did posture, now core. This is all about thriving and resilience in an aging body. I am not crazy about her teaching style at all, but she knows so much stuff. Besides being trained in the method or style of yoga that I teach she is trained in sports medicine. She helps me know how not to teach. Yesterday she basically told me my legs are lazy.

It may be true, but it seems like there might be better ways to call them out.

Ah, It turns out the apartment on the third floor had a slow leak in the kitchen and it has rotted the drywall partially down here. I knew they were working above my kitchen a few weeks ago. I am glad they are addressing it but ugh.

They are not sure about how bad the damage is and may need to replace part of my far kitchen wall. I am happy they are dealing with it. He looked under my sink and didn’t seem too worried about that.

Fingers crossed it is just the exterior walls…okay?

The cats are a little insecure. This is the whole known world for them.

The workman did not have a mask on and seemed a bit disgruntled that I told him I had to put one on while he was in here.

Sigh.
