Waiting on the melatonin to kick in. Think I rubbed my right eye too hard. Kinda burning, tearing up.

Finally finished Hannibal. Mason Verger was not eaten alive by hogs like in the film, instead his sister murdered him for all the years of torment and abuse (plus his sperm so she has an heir.) Still, fitting end.

I read the forward to Mutiny On The Bounty. Found this copy at a thrift store and instantly thought of the Looney Toons cartoon with Yosemite Sam playing a pirate and Bugs Bunny being a stow away on his ship. At one point Bugs impersonated actor Charles Laughton in his role as the film’s antagonist William Bligh with Sam playing the part of Fletcher Christian. It is going to be HARD not to hear those voices as I’m reading it.

Hell, that’s part of the reason I had to stop reading A Scanner Darkly. In the film (and book) there is a part where Woody Harrelson’s character gets into a fight with Robert Downey Jr.’s character and I couldn’t stop laughing. Took me away from the immersion in the story. 😂🤣

I’m pretty beat from work. My left foot still hurts like a bitch and I had to loosen up the laces on my work shoe to alleviate the pressure. No clue what I’ll be running tomorrow. Such is life, a shroud of mystery.

I’m off to sleep.
