Lesson Learned in Help Me Please

Yesterday’s dinner plan was going to be cheese burgers with French fries and corn on the cob. The French fries and the corn turned out really well. But the hamburgers I decided to use barbeque sauce. But instead of using a tiny bit I used a half a bottle and left the ground meat in it to soak up the flavors and put it in the fridge and covered it. Then when I went to make the burgers they wouldn’t stay and they were not really that formed but I decided to go ahead and cook them on the grill I have. Well, stupid me soon found out that they were way to crumbly and falling apart and when I went to turn them over they turned out to be something like hamburger helper. So hubby suggested I just pan fry what I could and we would eat it that way. Actually it did turn out to be pretty tasty. But I was so upset and felt like a real failure because it’s not very often I do something that stupid. But I did learn my lesson and will never ever repeat that again.
Have you ever wrecked a meal? And if so how did you fix it? Or did you fix it?

Onto something else…

Today is suppose to be a heat wave so I am not going to be doing much. And I don’t have any ideas for dinner yet. I wish I would have kept my BBQ but stupid me didn’t think I would use it. I am now thinking maybe hotdogs just because they don’t use much heat and they can be boiled and then the French fries only take 7 minutes unless we decide to have those tater tots and they take about 20 minutes but hubby will let me know if that is a good idea and he will suggest something else. I am hoping he will order in. Then that way the kitchen will not get all hot and steamy.

I have decided that I don’t want to be going back to my dentist because he has moved and it’s not very good for transit or even driving because the bust stop is like two blocks away from either side of the office and they do have parking in the back but there is no parking very often. And the dentist I really didn’t like because he was a different one that I have never had before and he wasn’t very friendly. So I saw this other dentist closer to me but for the life of me I forgot what street it’s on and I saw it when I was on the bus. So I m now trying to remember where I saw it so I can remember the street. But then the smart thing to do would be for me to just walk to see if I can find it and take some paper and a pencil or pen with me.
And since my son’s doctor and my doctor retired he is looking for a new doctor. And because of where he lives he wants to find someone closer to him and that might take some time. But I think he does go to a walk in sometimes when he needs his medication. But for the really important stuff he wants to find a permanent doctor.
It’s really a mess here with the lack of doctors and people are getting really worried. There was this senior couple who had to put an ad in the paper to get a doctor and they got one. But they shouldn’t have had to do that doctors should want to have patience. And they can’t get enough doctors because the education takes so long and the money isn’t really all that great.

And we also have a nursing shortage and the hospitals are the ones suffering. I think because of the Covid is when it all started and plus these professionals retiring and there is just not enough of new health care workers to take their places and especially in the rural areas. But hopefully soon the government will make it so there is enough medical people and give them what they want and need to do their job.

Onto something else…

Oh since last week I have lost 5 pound and I am starting to feel better I just have another 15 or so to go before I get to my goal weight. So as long as I continue this IM eating I should be there sooner rather then later. And then instead of fasting for 24 hours I will fast for 18 and then I should be able to maintain my weight.
