Going to a wedding this weekend and took a couple of days off of work. Friday and Monday to be exact. Friday will be used to get things done around here and Monday will be used to either recover from the wedding and the trip or/and to get the stuff done I didn't get done on Monday. I'm leaning toward some craft things. In about 3 weeks at work my Division is hosting a Hail and Farewell. I let the employees pretty much run amuck with the plans and they (the 3 females) decided to have a "Garden Party" theme and employee appreciation. Each Division Chief and Supervisor will be asked to donate $50 for the shindig, which I gave them Monday. The employees will not have to donate or do anything except to show up. I have purchased a skirt and blouse, made a shawl/poncho from a lace tablecloth, and bought a pink straw hat. The straw hat needs some embellishments so that will be my project. I'm going to try to make feathers and flowers to adorn the "garden party" hat. I'm actually looking forward to it and seem to really enjoy playing "dress up" for these themes that my girls come up with. I made an outfit for an October Fest theme a couple of years ago. Went all out to include making my "top" much bigger than normal, bought fake long hair and made a skirt and top that was "traditional" for a woman my age. Made the big boss do the chicken dance with me and the employees loved it. Putting a "costume" on, seems to make me brave and very daring.
Enough chatter and on with the pictures.
And then there is Big Kitty pestering the hummers, but just sitting there grooming himself.

We have the ruby-throated ones here. Hard to believe that something so delicate can survive harsh storms.

Those are great photos. My mom loved watching the hummingbirds. Before I moved into this apartment 4 years ago I could sit out on the deck and watch them. Fascinating birds. Enjoy the wedding. (previously ican and anx) I needed a new name.

I have carried on from OD and am here and Easy Diary. I have to admit that I like ED's format better since it is so much like OD. Old habits and familiar layout is hard to get away from for me I guess. Glad you stopped by here and will visit your diary when I can.

We also have the rufurous (spelling?) type hummingbirds here. Fascinating creatures. Native legend says they make the long journey on the feathers of returning Trumpeter Swans.

That's one BIG kitty. But love it and the hummers. Love those precious little rainbows that fly.
