Locals and a tourists ….!! in The odd entries from life …….

Monday 16th.

We’ve been and returned from Ziggy’s groomer, and I’m having a low energy day, the roads we take to get to the groomer are very narrow, after dropping Ziggy off the road is all climbing up a narrow and twisting; half way I was confronted by a huge tracker with balloon tyres. There was no choose as to who’s revering, thankfully the gate some meters down the road had a level run of the road, most seems to have deep ruts, I settled in as close to the gate as I could; I then settled to watch those large tyres pass two or three inch’s from my car …..

Out trip was ok, a few tourists driving at ‘isn’t the country side nice’ speed, I know I’ve been there on holiday. I also had a local in a little Fiat driving as if I was the tourists, very close behind me, I never saw the registration plate, this was on a ‘just – two lane’ road, passing a bus coming the other way was fun – I felt like closing my eyes; then as we passed a little lane on my left the Fiat was gone.

All the way back Ziggy was showing of his groomed coat to any one behind us, Lola just rolled up in her crate is if she wasn’t with him! I’ve been told to use the word ‘crate’ not ‘cage’ it sends out the wrong image; I asked Lola her opinion but she just looked puzzled – much as I am in this PC world!

Tuesday 17th.

A sunny day with out the cool breeze, when I took Ziggy out first thing it felt warm, retuning I stopped in the middle of the patio, tacking in some early warmth from the sun just over the top of the southern side of the valley. By now – mid morning, it is warm rather than hot which is just right for me.

Fun in Perranporth, at the garage people had their cars pointing ever where, some get petrol then go inside and shop; eyes roll up out of sight. It would have been ok at the Co-op, but there daily lorry was parked on one side of the entry, and a slow procession of camping vans coming and going, some are to big to park in the spaces so they hang about in the car park; not enjoying the cars trying to get in or out!

This is the quiet part of the summer season, another month or so the schools will close, that is the start of the summer holiday season; and often the rains also. Our summer has been sunny so far, a cool breeze has be about but it is ok to sit and better for walking; which is something I must do more of …………………..
