It’s funny because there’s something really peaceful about the fact that I’m completely disconnected from everything. Do you know why? In America, participation is a requirement… constantly inundated with sounds, news, music, fashion… it’s inescapable. Biden said this, your neighbor wears a MAGA hat, Kanye is stalking Kim, Starbucks is having a sale, SLUT POP is finally streaming… It’s just overwhelming, and I didn’t realize how much it pushed me into the ground.

All of that bullshit is like extra weight that’s added to gravity.

So I’m here, disconnected from anything that I know. And I’m sure Thai people are stressed, they’re protesting and in fear… but it’s all in Thai, so I don’t know to be afraid.

And it’s in this environment that I really disconnected from everything. I stopped singing, stopped listening to music, watching movies and TV, and let my mind wander towards my interests.

In that blank void, my mind had one melody left deep in its memory....
