Creeping in in Stuff

Ugh, the anxiety is creeping up more and more as my surgical procedure day gets closer. It didn’t help when I saw a missed call on my phone and they’d left a voicemail asking for confirmation, when I’d already confirmed online 🙄
So as an introvert, I then had to ring back (which I fucking hate). Then when I enquired about whether I pay before or after, the receptionist said I pay $150 before to book the appointment and then the massive surgery amount afterward. Wait, what? $150 to book?
At first I was annoyed at that, as well as giving my credit card details over the phone (which makes me sooooo uncomfortable) to confirm my place, but at least it’s booked for sure, and I thought well of course I have to pay for the doctor’s time, as it’s being taken up by the surgery, but there just seems to always be something else, which is what I was concerned about with the costs adding up. Initial consult and the pelvic ultrasound were free, the other two ultrasounds were $300 each (with half back on Medicare) and now the other extra add-on costs I’m not expecting will probably add up, despite the written quote. Then this whole credit-card limit thing - I don’t mean the balance, I mean the annoying daily limit they seem to have. From what I understand, Visa has a $2500 per “event” limit, not per “day”. Per “event” means I’ll be okay. If it’s per “day”, I’m fucked. I’ve prepared as much I can - paid down the credit card in order to fit this huge transaction in. If I had to pay the booking fee on top of the surgery, on top of the compression stockings, I’d be over $2500. I am thinking of getting out a few hundred in cash the day before, and having my debit card as backup (which has a $1000 a day limit). I’ve already paid the booking fee today so I’ll check they don’t try to charge that again on Monday. I’m assuming it’s the consult fee, but that too could be extra. $150 just sounds like the correct amount of money for the amount of time I’ll be on there.
If I’m maxing out daily limits (and in a worse case scenario, both cards), I won’t be able to bloody buy anything for the rest of the day. Sure I have food at home, but fuck that.

This is just me overthinking and planning that everything is ready to go. I’m already stressed about it as it is. On the day I’ll probably be a mental mess. I know I will.
Knowing I’m more than likely going to be getting numerous painful needles in my leg is fun. But that’s better than feeling the cable going up inside of me.
It’s fun being in my head. Anyway, I’m off work today as I worked Monday instead. That was the deal. Of course I was still getting notifications saying that my shift had started, and then ended (it does that to remind you to sign on and off to get paid correctly), which they obviously haven’t updated. I probably could have just walked by work and signed on and off (We sign on and off using an app on our phones that works on location, so it knows if we are at work or not) and gotten paid without even having been there. Obviously they don’t care about removing a shift and mightn’t even notice 😅

I finished reading “The End Of Billy Knight” last night. It’s set in the 1980’s gay porn industry. It had a nice ending, which was surprising, considering how much drama there was, and I was left with a good feeling after finishing it. On to the next book!

As I needed an outlet, I watched the new episode of ‘Better Call Saul’ this morning. My God that show is SO good. I gasped at episode 7 a few weeks back and episode 8 was making me say, “Oh my God!” out loud. Usually I’m tapping away on my phone or laptop while watching TV but this show is too interesting. The way TV should be! I think the last show that made me do that was Wentworth.
I watched Part 2 of ‘South Park: The Streaming Wars’ afterward and was laughing out loud at how both utterly stupid and clever at the same time it was 😅
